Irresponsible Pet Owners

At the end of school, two moms met and talked as their young children played in a large mound of dry leaves. The playing ended abruptly as one mother's small infant sounded off, and made it quite clear to all that she was hungry! The mother gathered her baby out of the stroller, and tried to calm and quiet her as she and her three year old daughter walked from the school yard to the adjacent park/play ground. The daughter ran on ahead past the picnic tables over to the play structure, and the mother's joy evaporated as a paralyzing fear struck her. She watched in horror as her daughter turned to run to her, screaming "Mama, mama!!" as a dog bounded after the girl, knocked her down and left her pinned there crying and screaming. The mother as she was unable to toss her small infant down quickly to run and retrieve her other child, screamed at the pet owner, "Get your D**N dog off my daughter!! It's suppose to be on a leash!" Moments later, she embraced and attempted to calm both of her daughters as tears streamed down their faces.
